  • Argentine President Javier Milei and former U.S. President Donald Trump delivered scathing critiques of the World Economic Forum's (WEF) agenda at the annual Davos meeting.
  • Milei criticized the influence of woke ideology in Western institutions and celebrated the growing alliance of leaders pushing back against globalism.
  • Trump challenged woke policies directly, particularly in the areas of immigration, crime, and gender, declaring there are only two genders.
  • Both leaders called for dismantling wokeism and promoting national sovereignty, economic independence, and freedom, inspiring millions globally.
  • Their speeches signal a turning point in the global political landscape, with the globalist elite potentially finding it harder to impose their agenda on an increasingly resistant world.
The World Economic Forum's (WEF) annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, has long been a gathering of the globalist elite, a place where the world's most powerful converge to shape the future of global governance. But this year, the event took an unexpected turn as two prominent leaders delivered scathing critiques of the WEF's agenda. Argentine President Javier Milei, a libertarian firebrand who has become a symbol of resistance to globalism and leftist ideology, returned to Davos for the second time. Last year, he stood virtually alone in his condemnation of the WEF's agenda. This year, however, Milei declared that the tide is turning. "What once seemed like a global hegemony of the 'woke' left in politics, educational institutions, in the media, in supranational organizations or even in forums like Davos, has begun to crumble," Milei told the assembled global elite on Jan. 23. His speech served a bold indictment of the woke ideology that he believes has infected Western institutions. "Although hope has been rekindled, it is our moral duty and responsibility to dismantle the ideological edifice of sickly wokeism." Milei also celebrated the growing alliance of like-minded leaders around the world who are pushing back against globalism. Included in the names he mentioned as allies in the fight for freedom were billionaire Elon Musk, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and U.S. President Donald Trump. "Slowly, an international alliance has been forming among all those nations who want to be free and believe in the ideas of liberty," the Argentine leader said. According to Milei, wokeism must be dismantled for the sake of freedom and prosperity. His words resonated with many who see the woke left's influence as a threat to individual liberty, free speech and economic freedom. Milei's message was clear: The globalist agenda is losing ground, and a new era of freedom is on the horizon.

"Only two genders": Trump's direct challenge to WOKE ideology

Trump, who has long been a vocal critic of the WEF and its globalist ambitions, also appeared virtually to deliver a powerful rebuke of the policies championed by the Biden administration and the global elite. Trump's speech focused on his efforts to reverse the radical-left policies that have harmed America – particularly in the areas of immigration, crime and inflation. "I've taken rapid action to reverse each and every one of these radical left policies," Trump declared. "In particular, with immigration, crime, and inflation. I've made it the official policy of the U.S.: There are only two genders." (Related: Biden's failed policies are OVER, Trump tells globalist elites at Davos.) This statement was a direct challenge to the woke ideology that has permeated Western institutions, including the WEF, which has often promoted progressive gender policies and other leftist priorities. In addition to his critique of woke policies, Trump emphasized the importance of national sovereignty and economic independence – contrasting with the WEF's vision of a borderless, globalized world. Both Milei and Trump's speeches at Davos were remarkable for their unapologetic criticism of the globalist elite and their woke policies. They stood on the WEF’s own turf and called out the organization for its role in promoting an ideology that they believe is undermining freedom, prosperity and national sovereignty. Their courage to speak truth to power has inspired millions around the world who are tired of being told what to think, how to live and what to believe. Milei’s declaration that the woke left's hegemony is crumbling and Trump's rejection of radical-left policies signal a turning point in the global political landscape. As more leaders join this growing alliance for freedom, the globalist elite may find it increasingly difficult to impose their agenda on an unwilling world. The battle is far from over, but as Milei and Trump have shown, the tide is turning in favor of liberty.
