Israel goes ballistic over six captives shot dead while justifying its own mass slaughter of 40,000-plus civilians in Gaza

Something of a societal breakdown is sweeping Israel due to a major political rift over how to proceed in Gaza. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wants to keep IDF troops stationed along the Philadelphi corridor but Defense Minister Yoav Gallant wants something much different. "The political-security cabinet must convene immediately and reverse the decision made on Thursday," Gallant wrote on social media in Hebrew about the recent vote in Netanyahu's favor. "It's too late for the abductees who were murdered in cold blood. The abductees who remain in the captivity of Hamas must be returned home [through an exchange]. The State of Israel will reckon with all the leaders and murderers of Hamas, down to the last one." The vote was made after the news broke that six Israeli hostages were found dead inside a tunnel located in Gaza's southernmost city of Rafah, also known as the last stand for the people of Gaza in the face of Israeli aggression. According to an Israeli army statement, the six dead Israeli captives were "brutally murdered" by Hamas right before IDF troops arrived. (Related: Speaking of hypocrisy, Pope Francis, who lives in a private city behind a massive wall, says that you and yours must take in the migrant hordes or else be guilty of committing "a grave sin.")

Ynet says IDF, not Hamas, killed Israeli captives

The claim is that these six captives suffocated to death due to carbon dioxide poisoning, also known as hypoxia. In essence, there was too much CO2 and not enough nitrogen and oxygen. Hebrew media outlet Ynet reported late last month when the six captives were discovered that it was actually the IDF that killed them in an airstrike. The Israeli army denies this, instead blaming Hamas. Gallant, Netanyahu's opposition, is on the side of the families of the captives who are really upset with Netanyahu's continued stonewalling against a ceasefire agreement. If Netanyahu would cooperate, more lives could be saved rather than ended by aggressive IDF soldiers who have thus far taken the lives of more than 40,000 people in Gaza. Netanyahu's argument is that the war must continue until Hamas is eradicated, even if doing this results in more Israeli loss of life. Suddenly, the lives of the Israeli captives whom Netanyahu used as an excuse to launch his war in the first place are having to take a back seat to his actual mission of keeping the war going indefinitely to shield himself from ever being held accountable for his alleged crimes while in office. A career politician much like Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden, Netanyahu has held the reins of power in Israel for quite a long time. Not everyone who lives in Israel likes him, especially as news continues to break about the mounting death toll in Gaza, including the deaths of Israeli citizens, due to Netanyahu's war. Hamas is demanding a permanent ceasefire and immediate withdrawal of troops from Gaza while Israel not only defies all efforts towards peace but also expands its military presence in other land corridors surrounding Gaza. "Netanyahu and the death cabinet decided not to rescue the abductees," commented Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid about the matter. "That blood is on their head." "The significance of this is that Hamas won't agree to it, so there won't be an agreement and there won't be any hostages released," Gallant later responded to ministers in a meeting, to which Netanyahu responded with: "This is the decision." It should be noted that Lapid is an Israeli himself who opposes Netanyahu's war. Here in the United States, we are told that anyone who opposes Netanyahu's war is an "antisemite," so does that make Lapid and all the other Israeli politicians and citizens who feel the same way "antisemitic" as well?
