Canada's Trudeau paid WEF nearly CA$500K for a report praising his climate change policies
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau paid nearly CA$500,000 ($363,500) in taxpayer money to the World Economic Forum (WEF) in exchange for a report praising and
justifying his Liberal Party government's environmental and climate change policies.
This is according to documents obtained by media outlets, including the
Epoch Times. These documents note that former Minister of Environment and Climate Change Catherine McKenna allotted CA$493,937 ($359,110) to the WEF in August 2019 to produce the "New Nature Economy Report." (Related:

The report's main goal was to heap praise on policies to mitigate environmental collapse like carbon taxes and
to establish a business case for preventing climate change and was primarily directed at senior decision-makers in governments and businesses.
"This report will be directed at senior decision-makers in governments and businesses who have the influence and ability
to shift business-as-usual approach," said
Environment and Climate Change Canada.
Following payment by the Canadian government, six months later the WEF produced a report claiming that implementing a carbon tax is a sound policy.
"What is required is bold policy ambition and decisive political leadership to signal that business-as-usual is no longer valid," read the report, published in June 2020.
In December 2020, Trudeau announced his government's carbon tax scheme that raises the tax on fuel consumption in increments
and is expected to reach CA$170 ($124) per metric ton (1.1 U.S. tons) by 2030.
This proposal is just the first of many other proposals meant "to strengthen Canada's approach to reducing methane emissions from the oil and gas sector" and it establishes new
carbon emission reduction targets for 2030 and 2035.
Trudeau working hand-in-hand with globalists like the WEF and the UN
This is not the first time the government of Canada has funneled taxpayer dollars to globalist organizations like the WEF. In November 2015, for example, Trudeau's Liberals opened a CA$105.3 million ($76.41 million) contract to help develop a digital identification program known as the Known Traveler Digital ID.
It is unknown how much the WEF received from this project. But government revelations have found that total WEF funding received from Canada from Nov. 4, 2015 to June 20, 2023, was nearly CA$23.5 million ($17.05 million).
This is not the first time that it has been revealed that Trudeau has been working with
globalist organizations like the WEF. Trudeau's government's current environmental goals are also in lockstep with the United Nations' 2030 "sustainable development" agenda, and it includes phasing out the use of coal-fired power plants, reducing the use of nitrogen fertilizers and curbing natural gas use over the coming decade.
Trudeau's government has already implemented many other policies that align with the climate change agenda of the WEF and the UN, including other kinds of attacks on Canada's oil and gas industries. WEF Founder Klaus Schwab even previously told Canadian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Chrystia Freeland that he has "counted on her" to make sure
his goals for Canada are implemented.
Freeland is notable for also serving as a member of the WEF Board of Trustees, and she represented Canada in a recent WEF meeting and public panel on the conflict in Ukraine.
