America Unhinged: Conservatives and Christians should start making movies with great stories, says Marcus Pittman – Brighteon.TV
Filmmaker and producer Marcus Pittman remarked that conservatives and Christians have ignored Hollywood for too long
"I think for the most part, conservatives and Christians have neglected to get involved in Hollywood or the film industry at a pretty drastic scale," he told theologian Dr. John Diamond during the Oct. 5 episode of "America Unhinged" on Brighteon.TV
"We've gone the route of talk radio and news and information, because that's how conservatives think. Mostly they are modernist in that sense, so they think in terms of facts and data and news."
According to the founder of the Loor streaming platform, liberals are good with thinking about stories and narratives to tug the emotional heartstrings of people.
Thus, Christians and conservatives must also do the same – aside from investing their capital into resources and building companies or organizations that challenge the woke agenda. Pittman cited Bible stories, such as Jesus' parables and Moses' receipt of the Ten Commandments, as examples of these entertaining and life-changing narratives.
Moreover, he remarked that liberals do not care about having their own media because they own Hollywood. They also have the money to advertise and pay other platforms to show their movies.
Ultimately, Pittman urged conservative investors to stop making terrible artistic decisions and start making movies with great stories that they want their families to watch, enjoy and pass down to the next generation.
Diamond: Hollywood is manipulating the American people
The "America Unhinged" host told his guest that people do not realize how bad Hollywood and the news media have become, with all the propaganda and lies coming out. (Related: New "Out of Shadows" documentary exposes the media and Hollywood for manipulating the masses with lies and propaganda
"People don't understand how much Hollywood manipulates people," said Diamond. "It is used to manipulate people because they want to control the narrative,"
He cited two 1960s Hollywood movies – "Elmer Gantry" and "Inherit The Wind" – that were used to attack Christianity, the Word of God and religion.
"Elmer Gantry" involves the story of the titular character
, a traveling salesman with a far-from-moral lifestyle who meets a preacher woman known for her fire-and-brimstone sermons. "Inherit The Wind," meanwhile, centered around a teacher being tried in court
for teaching the theory of evolution as espoused by Charles Darwin.
"It made people really back off, kind of like the Jan. 6 things, when they knew the election was stolen. Everybody kind of backed off of Christianity in the schools, in the government and everything else, because these two propaganda pieces came out and really made Christians and Christianity look bad," Diamond explained.
The theologian added that there was not much pushback when the Supreme Court ruled on the separation of Church and State.
Diamond pointed out that people do not understand the influence that movies have. Ultimately, Diamond agreed with his guest that Christians must launch transformative documentaries and movies.
