GOP senators demanding Facebook provide info on conversations with FBI over suppression of Hunter Biden laptop
A pair of Republican senators who have been investigating Biden family corruption for years now are making new demands of Facebook following revelations by its founder, Mark Zuckerberg, that the platform downgraded and hid damaging information gleaned from a scandalous laptop.
In 2019, Hunter Biden dropped the laptop off at a computer repair shop in Delaware but never returned to pick it up. The shop owner took possession of the device after the mandatory time had passed, after which he downloaded its contents and began to see grotesque debauchery and corruption, as well as alleged illegal activity, which then led him to turn the device over to the FBI in December of that year.
Of course, we now know that the bureau just sat on the revelations because top brass wanted President Donald Trump out and Joe Biden in; whistleblowers recently confirmed that. But it gets worse: The FBI, in conjunction with members of the deep state intelligence community, actively worked to undermine our free and fair elections in a way that led to Trump's assured defeat, by hook or by crook.
What's more, the left-wing social media platforms were all-in on the operation as well, as Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg admitted to podcaster Joe Rogan recently. The founder of one of the world’s biggest social media platforms admitted that Facebook downgraded posts about Hunter Biden’s now-infamous laptop prior to the 2020 election because the FBI contacted the company and suggested, falsely, that it was “Russian disinformation.”

That revelation, coupled with claims from whistleblowers that FBI brass told field agents not to look into the laptop, has raised righteous suspicions that the bureau has become overtly politicized against Donald Trump and conservatives.
The FBI has now responded with what appears to be a ‘CYA’ statement.
“The FBI routinely notifies U.S. private sector entities, including social media providers, of potential threat information, so that they can decide how to better defend against threats,” the bureau said in a statement Friday night, adding that it “cannot ask, or direct, companies to take action on information received.”
Two GOP senators aren't buying; they want more answers and they believe the American people deserve them.
"Senate Republicans Chuck Grassley and Ron Johnson have written a letter to Facebook demanding they hand over any communications they had with the FBI and the DOJ regarding Hunter Biden's laptop and business dealings," The Daily Mail reports
In addition, the letter, which was sent to Zuckerberg, "also requests names of FBI and DOJ officials who told the social media behemoth that a document dump ahead of the 2020 election was 'Russian disinformation,'" the outlet added.
"The American people deserve to know whether the FBI used Facebook as part of their alleged plan to discredit information about Hunter Biden," the two senators wrote. "If so, Congress and the American people require clarity with respect to the extent the FBI communicated with Facebook during the 2020 election about Hunter Biden-related information."
In addition to 'warning' Zuckerberg, more than 50 current and former intelligence community officials signed on to a letter claiming that the laptop contents looked like a 'classic' Russian disinformation campaign -- which should now call their skills into question because their assertion has been proven to be completely wrong (no wonder Osama bin Laden pulled off the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks).
"So we took a different path than Twitter. Basically, the background here is the FBI, I think basically came to us — some folks on our team and was like, 'Hey, um, just so you know, like, you should be on high alert," Zuckerberg told Rogan. "There was the — we thought that there was a lot of Russian propaganda in the 2016 election. We have it on notice that basically there's about to be some kind of dump of — that's similar to that. So just be vigilant."
Following those revelations, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) noted on social media: "The FBI colluded with Big Tech to silence news stories
weeks before the 2020 election in an attempt to control your access to information. Democrats in Congress have been intentionally ignoring the facts. When Republicans are back in charge, we will hold all of them accountable."
Let's hope so.
